Winter is coming to a close and warmer temperatures are on the horizon. Therefore, we can finally put the de-icer away and refresh our ride to get it ready for the longer, lighter and warmer days ahead (fingers crossed on the third – it is England after all)

Winter can be a harsh month for your vehicle so here are some steps you can take in order to get it ready to shine this spring!

1. It’s time for a spring clean

Winter has left us with nothing but filthy, salt-ridden marks on our cars. It’s important to set a date with your driveway and give your vehicle a thorough spring clean.
Fortunately, our GardX Vehicle Protection System, protects your paintwork against things such as road salt, grit and grime, which if left, will damage your car’s finish. However, we do still recommend to thoroughly wash your car regularly to maintain your GardX shine.

Don’t forget to give the inside of your car a good once over with a hoover and clean with interior dressing to keep your car feeling and smelling like new!

2. Are your wipers still up to the job?

Windscreen wipers tend to have a short lifespan and unfortunately our wipers can get quite the workout over winter, scraping on rain, ice and even snow.

We recommend considering changing them at the end of winter. April is notorious for rain showers so it’s essential to have properly working wipers to guarantee the best visibility and safety.

However, if they don’t need replacing, do still give them a wipe to avoid any dirt damaging your windscreen.

Top Tip: Prepare for the expected ‘April Showers’ by applying GardX Glass Guard to your windscreen.

Glass Guard creates a far safer driving experience by coating the windscreen with a formulation that repels rain and causes it to bead and aerodynamically run-off.

3. All tyred out

Winter can be a tiring time for your car’s tyres. Colder temperatures can impact your tyre pressure; therefore, it is important to regularly check all of your tyre’s pressures and tread depths.

Top Tip: Always have to hand a can of GardX Tyre Guard in your vehicle in case of any unexpected tyre emergencies. A properly inflated tyre will help improve your fuel efficiency and help to avoid any costly emergency call outs due to a blowout.

4. Bugs, Bugs, Bugs

Be prepared for the onslaught of flies and bugs hugging your windscreen this spring and summer by ensuring that your washer fluid is topped up!

It’s also a good idea to clean your windscreen and headlights regularly to get rid of those stubborn insects, which impact your visibility.

Top Tip: GardX Dry Wash is a quick and convenient waterless solution to get rid of those irritating critters from your paintwork!

5. Suns out, shades on!

It’s time to put the sunglasses back in the car. At this time of year, the sun can sit quite low, especially in the morning and evening, so a pair of shades are useful to have to hand whilst driving helping to avoid the strong glare, creating a far safer driving environment.

There we have it, 5 simple steps to make driving this spring a far more pleasurable experience for you and your car.

Fingers crossed the weather is as kind to us this year as it was last!

Happy Driving.
